PIXEL Labs for Experiential Learners
Launched in March 2014, IMDA PIXEL Labs , has been a platform to build a culture of making in Singapore. The labs deliver programmes to inspire our talent with media and technology.
With a nurturing and encouraging environment, and through its many activities, PIXEL Labs ignites a bold passion for innovative thinking and experimentation by encouraging passionate individuals to get hands on with the latest applications such as microcontroller-based prototyping platform and 3D printing or by taking part in robotics-based challenges.
Children with special needs and the underprivileged are also encouraged to cultivate their interest in programming, coding and technology development.

Holly and Lauren
This pair of twins visit the Labs twice a week to tinker with the Raspberry Pi kits. They are also very interested in 3D printing and even printed their special goody bag gifts for their friends who attended their birthday party.
Cathy, an IT professional, visits the Labs to use the 3D printers to print out different plastic models such as a pendant, an organizer for her earphone cords and her own version of a Harry Porter wand. She also tinkered with the Arudino Uno and Raspberry Pi kits available at our Labs.
Driven by his passionate interest, Elijah visits the Labs every week to work on his portable Raspberry Pi kit. He designed and printed the external cover and buttons using the 3D printers in our Labs.
